As Tech For Troops heads into our twelfth year, I’m grateful for your continued support of our Mission: to strengthen the lives of Active Military, Veterans, and their families by delivering sustainable skills, wellness resources, and technology-driven education that foster resilience and opportunity. 

What makes Tech For Troops different is that our programs are not only mission-driven, they are financially sustainable. Through guaranteed data destruction, environmental stewardship, and community partnerships, we power our work from the inside out. Through our workforce development and technology access programs, we provide refurbished laptops and free access to more than 10,000 online classes. In 2024 alone, we supported 175 Veterans here in Richmond and more than 1,100 Veterans nationwide, opening doors to education, employment, and renewed confidence.

Now, we need your help to continue our mission. 

Jason Parker, our Game Corps Game Master, served three deployments in the United States Navy and two more in the United States Army. After leaving the military, he hoped to recover from his injuries and rebuild his life. Instead, he battled addiction and attempted suicide twice. He knew what it felt like to slip toward the edge, and he wanted to reach other Veterans before they reached that point. 

We launched Game Corps to break isolation and build community through something simple and familiar: gaming. We’ve created therapeutic gaming rooms, which we call “bunkers”, in Winchester, Va., Petersburg, Va., and Yucca, Calif. In our bunkers, Veterans get to play Fortnite with their children, laugh with friends, and remember that they are more than their trauma. These moments are life-changing. Sometimes they are life-saving.
