Tech For Troops – 2024 Accomplishments

Expanding Access. Strengthening Families. Saving Lives.

In 2024, Tech For Troops grew its impact across the country. Every program,
training session, and computer we placed into a Veteran’s hands supported a
single mission: empower Veterans and their families with technology,
education, and hope.

Here is what your support made possible this year.

Game Corps: “Aiming For Zero”

Our suicide prevention initiative continued to make a direct, measurable difference.

• 8 lives were saved in 2024.
• The program operates with one employee and 14 dedicated volunteers who support Veterans on our online platform.

Expanding Digital Access Across America

Technology access remains a barrier for thousands of Veterans. This year:

• More than 1,200 Veterans nationwide received computers through Tech For Troops.
• 175 Veterans trained in-house received a free computer along with instruction in:
  • Financial literacy
  • How to enroll in 5,000 free online classes
  • Personal cybersecurity fundamentals

Training and Deployments Through Strong Partnerships

Our partners help us reach communities we couldn’t reach alone. In 2024, Tech For Troops
provided computers and free access to 5,000 classes, including Microsoft Office training,
OSHA coursework, digital skills development, and more. Together we achieved:

• 400 computers deployed with the Virginia Department of Veterans Services to Veteran students at community colleges
• 25 computers delivered through Ft. Belvoir’s Sugar Plum Express to children of active-duty service members
• 10 computers deployed with the Army Suicide Prevention Program at Ft. Jackson
• 90 computers provided to children through Ft. Gregg-Adams Holiday Helper
• Completed the first AUSA Tech200 giveaway in Newport News, VA, just before Christmas

• “This is my first computer.”
• “You have made my Christmas.”
• “Is this mine to keep?”
• “I thought this was a scam, but you made my Christmas!”

Environmental Stewardship

Our work strengthens Veterans and protects the environment. This year we:

• Responsibly recycled or reused nearly 800,000 pounds of e-waste, keeping harmful materials out of landfills
• Earned the Governor’s Silver Environmental Excellence Award for our ongoing commitment to sustainability

Volunteer Impact

Volunteers remain the backbone of Tech For Troops. In 2024:

• Supporters contributed more than 2,000 hours of service
• Volunteers assisted with refurbishing computers, supporting events, mentoring Veterans, and keeping our operations strong

Looking Ahead

Tech For Troops is growing because the need is growing. Veterans and their families continue
to face digital barriers that limit access to education, employment, healthcare, and community.

The numbers above represent more than outputs—they represent lives changed, opportunities opened,
and futures rebuilt.
