Tech For Troops and VFW Post 6364 Unveil the First Game Corps “Gaming Bunker” for Veterans
Richmond, VA — Tech For Troops and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6364 have partnered to launch the nation’s first Game Corps “Gaming Bunker,” a dedicated space where Veterans can connect, relax, and strengthen their mental health through gaming.
“We’ve partnered with Tech For Troops over the past several years and been extremely impressed with their mission and what they do for Veterans,” said Maurice “Chipp” Naylon, Post Commander of VFW Post 6364. “When we learned about their Game Corps and its mission to support Veteran mental health, we jumped at the opportunity to get our members involved. Building the Gaming Bunker was an easy decision.”
The collaboration between Tech For Troops and VFW Post 6364 reflects a shared commitment to supporting Veteran mental wellness and building stronger connections through technology.
“The Veteran community thrives on our relationships—especially between Veteran support organizations,” Naylon explained. “We work closely with the T4T team, so the idea popped up over lunch at our Post. From that initial idea, Jason Parker and his rockstar Game Corps team made everything happen—from design to implementation.”
Each gaming system was refurbished and customized by Tech For Troops volunteers, creating a comfortable and engaging space designed specifically for Veterans.
As the first VFW Post to host a Game Corps Gaming Bunker, Post 6364 is helping shape a model for future locations. “Our primary goal is Veteran mental health—any outlet that brings Veterans together in a safe space is a win for us,” Naylon said.
Mark Casper, President and CEO of Tech For Troops, said the project showcases what community partnerships can achieve. “Every life saved has a ripple effect across families and communities. Our mission is to make zero—the number of Veteran suicides—the only number worth talking about.”
